Description: The plant, also known as Christmas
cactus, is bushy, epiphytic, formed by small hanging stems.
These are formed by short and flat, successive segments, teethed
in the edges and truncated on apex.
The areolas are felted and they are arranged on the tip of
articles.
The flowers are zigomorphic, present curved tube and are pink,
red or purple. Flowering takes place in winter.
Growing tips: Requires soil with higher
proportion of organic components, semishade and certain rest
during flowering. Propagation is made by rooting articles. |
