| Place of origin:
Bolivia, department of Cochabamba.
Description: The species is small, sometimes
solitary although it can be found abundantly clumped. The
stems is about 3.5 cm. high and 5 cm. wide.
The tubercles are arranged in spiral and cover the stem completely.
The areolas are elliptical, felted and cream color.
The radial spines are pointed towards the outside. They are
very short and appear in pairs of 6 or 7. There is also a
spine of about 0.5 cm. long directed upwards. All are of white
color.
The flowers are about 3 cm. wide and long and are orange.
Growing tips: This species need the winter
rest period. Propagation is made by rooting offsets. |
