Place of origin: Northwest of Argentina.

Description: The plant is big in its natural state, coulding reach 8 m. high. The trunk is heavy and short, it measures about 40 cm. wide and it is branched with articles of 60 cm. long. These are of shining green color, although they become greenish gray with age.
The ribs are 8 or 9, measuring approximately 1.5 cm. and are rounded.
The areolas are oval and felted, but thy become naked with age.
The radial spines are between 7 and 9, they are about 3 cm. long and are thickened at the base. There is only a central spine, straight and robust, which can be up to 8 cm. long. All are yellowish black or brown color, but they become white with the dark tip with age.
The flowers measure about 15 cm. long, they are born laterally in the proximities of apex and are of green the outside and white on the inside.

Growing tips: The young specimens like partial shade, although adults require full sun. Propagation is made by seeds or cuttings.
