| Place of origin:
Northwest of Argentina, province of Jujuy.
Description: The species is low, globular
or a little cylindrical, with long axonomorfic root and dark
green stem. It can be found very clumped with many basal offsets.
The tubercles are prominent and arranged in spiral.
The radial spines look like silks and are laterally directed
towards the sides. They are between 4 and 12 and measure between
3 and 7 mm. long.
The flowers appear in the middle of the stem or near the base.
They have thin tube and are of pink or salmon color .
Growing tips: Propagation is made by rooting
basal offsets. |
