Pereskia
Pereskia is a genus that includes 16 species of primitive cactus
original from Central and South America, from Mexico to Brazil.
The plants of this genus have persistent leaves and some authors
do not consider them succulent. The species can be bushy, tree shaped
and even and climbing. The name was given by Linne in honor to the
french naturalist of XVI century Nicholas Fabre de Peiresc.
Most of the species resist well low temperatures.
The flowers appear in summer and in some species are of big.
