Province of Jujuy, Argentina.
Description: The species presents globular
stem, although it becomes something extended with age. It
is of clear green color, it measures between 8 and 10 cm.
high, and shows abundant wool on apex.
The ribs are arranged as an helix and they are 24.
The areolas are of white color and show numerous radial, sharp
and fragile thin spines. The central spines are a little more
prominent, between 8 and 10 mm. long, but one which can be
up to 2 cm. All of them are of yellow color.
The flowers are of yellow color, small, bowl shaped and they
take place in abundance.
Advice of culture: The species grows better
with partial shade and does not tolerate cold well. Propagation
is made by seeds. |
