East of Andes, in Peru, Bolivia, north of Argentina and Chile
Description: The plant, of raised stem,
send branches from its base, and measures about 1 m. high
and between 8 and 12 cm. wide.
The ribs are cleared and they are between 10 and 17.
The areolas are big, white, oval and very woolly in the young
parts of the plant, where they present long, thin and silky
hairs, but they become naked in the older parts.
The radial spines, are 9, conical and rigid, of brown yellow
color and measuring about 2 cm. long. The central spines,
are strong, they are between 1 and 4, of brown color and measure
up to 8 cm. long.
The flowers are of dark pink color and appear in the proximities
of apex.
Growing tips: Propagation is made by seeds
or cuttings. |
