Mexico, state of Tamaulipas, near Victory city.
Description: The plant have globular aspect,
and can reach 12 cm. wide.
The stem is formed by big tubercles of triangular shape, which
look like superposed leaves. In the adult plants, the base
is between 2 and 2.5 cm; the external face is curved and is
finished in an acute edge, whereas the internal one is flat.
There is a small areola on apex with between 2 and 4 short
and weak spines, projected towards the outside.
The flowers are about 3 cm. wide, white or pink, and are born
in the center of the plant.
Growing tips: The species is rare, but its
culture is simple if it stays at full sun and protected from
cold. Propagation is made by seeds. |
