Notocactus mammulosus

Place of origin: Argentina and Uruguay.

Description: The plant have grayish green globular stem which later becomes extended reaching 10 cm. high and 6 cm. wide.
The ribs are between 18 and 20, they have cleared and very prominent tubercles. Between them are the areolas, which are big, depressed and distanced about 5 mm. to each other.
The radial spines are between 10 and 13, brownish, thin, and of less than 5 mm. long. The central spines are 3 or 4, of about 1 cm. long, robust, and of yellow color with the brown tip.
The flowers are yellow and present tube covered by white wool and brownish bristles.

Advice of culture: It does not resist cold very well. Propagation is made by seeds.
