Myrtillocactus
Myrtillocactus is a small genus of arborescent plants originary from
Mexico. The name was given by the italian Michelangelo Console, because
the similarity of the fruits with those of the bilberry(Vaccinum myrtillus).
A big amount of white and small flowers appear in summer, followed
by small fruits of blue color that are edible.
The genus is propagated generally by cuttings that must be cutted
best at the warmer time of the year. Cuttings send branches from the
base and the cultivated plant will look more arborescent as it grows.
Apparently, only the plants cultivated from seeds produce trunk.
The genus tolerates some cold by short periods.
It requires full sun.
