Place of origin: North of Peru, department of Amazon, Marañon river cannon.

Description: The stem, of grayish green color, is spherical at first but it becomes a little extended with age.
The plant lacks of ribs when young. These ones appear as the plant grows and they can be 7 or 12. They have tuberous relief in where the areolas are located.
The spines can be absent, but generally there are between 1 and 5. They are curved, of brown color and become whitish as the plant ages.
The flowers are of red color, and have long tube, measuring between 8 and 10 cm. long and 5 cm. wide

Growing tips: Propagation is made by seeds.
