Place of origin: Cuba and Haiti.

Description: The plant sends many offsets from the base, forming big groups of up to 60 cm. wide. It is small, spherical or elongated, and their stems measure about 6 cm. high and about 4 cm. wide.
The tubercles are about 5 mm. long. They are thin, soft and conical, and long hairs appear from its base.
The areolas are a little woolly on the apex of the stem.
The radial spines are many, silky and white; of between 5 and 10 mm. long. The central spines are between 5 and 10, measure about 8 mm. They are thin and of clear yellow color with the tip darker.
The flowers appear near the center of the plant, from the base of older tubercles. They are of pale yellow color with a brown central band and measure about 1.5 cm. long.
The fruits measure 1 cm. long and are red or orange.

Advice of culture: Propagation is made easily by rooting offsets or by seeds.
