of origin: Mexico, state of Coahuila.
Description: The species can be found abundantly
clumped, forming big colonies. The stem is round, measures
about 7 cm. wide and is of clear green color.
The tubercles are soft, cylindrical, are arranged in spiral,
and their armpits present white color wool.
The radial spines cover the stem completely, are about 40,
of white color. They are between 3 and 7 mm. long, are soft
and its shape resembles a feather. The central spines are
absent.
The flowers measure less than 1 cm. long and wide. They are
white and presents a thin pink or brown central band.
Growing tips: It requires porous, well drained
soil and full sun. It is very important to keep the plant
dry during the cold months since it rots very easily.
Propagation is made by rooting offsets. |
