Description: This plant have small, flattened,
globose stem of about 25 mm. wide.
The roots are short and fleshy.
The tubercles measure 5,5 mm. long. They are a little cylindrical
when young and pyramidal when older. They have up to 10 mm.
wide on the base and are of shining green color. The armpits
have white wool, mainly on apex area.
The areolas are big, oval, of 2,5 mm. long and 1,7 mm. wide
and show white wool.
The radial spines appear in number of 25. They are pointed
in all directions, most of them horizontally, somewhat curved
and of 1,2 to 2 mm. long. The lateral ones are slightly extended
than those on apex. They are white, but get a little more
darken with age.
The central spines are absent.
The flowers, of short tube, measure about 20 mm. long and
wide and are of pink color.
Advice of culture: The plant requires porous,
well drained soil. It grows better with partial shade on summer. |
