Hylocereus
There are between 12 and 18 species of Hylocereus in America Central
and Mexico.
They are epiphytic plants of great size which can reach 9 m. high.
Some Hylocereus have enormous flowers of up to 30 cm. wide, that open
at night which are pollinated by bats. Most of the species have flowers
of white color, although Hylocereus stenopterus has red flowers.
