Mexico, state of Coahuila.
Description: The plant has napiform root
and solitary body. The stem, globular or oval shaped, is about
10 cm. of high and about 8 and 9 cm. wide. When the plant
is young is of bluish green color, but it becomes intense
a green with age.
It has 5 ribs, separated by wide cracks.
The areolas are small and naked when young, but they can show
about 1 or 3 weak white spines up to 1.5 cm. long, as the
plant ages.
The flowers are funnel shaped, they are of pink and about
3 or 4 cm. long.
Advice of culture: This species requires
light shade. Propagation by seeds. |
