Place of origin: United States, state of Texas, near Laredo.

Description: The species has a a little cylindrical stem, of about 8 or 10 cm. high and 5 cm. wide. It can send basal offsets with age. The stem is narrowed in the upper part, to the point of acquiring an almost conical aspect.
The root is heavy and axonomorphic.
The ribs are low, and about 10 or 14.
The areolas are yellow. They are very small and are a little distanced to each other.
The radial spines are 20, white and about 0.5 cm. long. Central spines are straight, brown, and about 1 cm. long.
Flowers arise near apex and have a long funnel shaped tube, provided with spiny areolas. They are pink and about 6 or 7 cm.

Growing tips: Requires full sun and some winter protection.
Propagation by seeds os by rooting basal offsets.
