Description: With stems between 9 and 12
mm. wide, probably this one is the smallest cactus in the
world. It grows solitary or forming colonies. It lacks of
ribs and tubercles. The plant does not have spines and the
flowers appear near the upper part. They are white colored,
it size is between 6 and 15 mm long and between 5 and 7 mm
wide. The fruits are globose and fleshy. This species is self-fertile.
Growing tips: It requires shade and very
well drained loose soil. It is a plant difficult to grow from
seeds. Besides, cutting are difficult to root. Bag method
is best for germination. |
