Mexico, state of Nuevo Leon.
Description: Small plant with axonomorfic
root and spherical stem which is depressed on apex. It size
is approximately 5 cm. wide and it color is green or grayish.
Older specimens produce sprouts from the base and the flanks.
The ribs, in number from 9 to 11, are crossed sectionally
by furrows. They are cleared and show wrinkled, irregular
horizontal reliefs. Between one and another rib, there are
additional ribs, but thinner and irregular. The areolas, are
very small and close together, they are covered by short hairs
of white color. From 1 to 3 thorns appear from each areola.
They are very weak, and it size is between 3 and 4 mm. in
long. Flowers are born in the superior part of the plant.
It size is 8 mm. wide and 1 cm. in long. The external petals
are white colored with a reddish band. The internal ones are
white.
Growing tips: Porous substrate and full
sun. Very sensitive to old and root rot. |
