Mexico, state of Hidalgo.
Description: Epifit plant showing thin stems
of up to 2 cm. widht and 2 m. lenght. When they are young
a shiny green color is appreciated, but they become grayish
with time. It has between 10 and 14 little evident ribs. The
areolas, are small and white or grayish. They are separated
between 6 and 8 mm. to each other and cover densely the body.
The spines measure 0.5 cm. in length and are of golden color,
although they are darkened with the age. 8 and 12 radial thorns
and 3 or 4 centrals exist between. The flowers appear at the
end of the spring and last between 3 and 6 days. They measure
between 7 and 8 cm. in length and appear throughout the stems.
They are zigomorfic and of pink color.
Advice of culture: Full sun and adequate
watering in the summer. Propagation is obtained by rooting
cuttings in the summer. |
